KARACHI: The city traffic police have imposed a ban on the movement of heavy vehicles in Karachi on 11th and 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.

According to a notification issued by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Police Pir Muhammad Shah, dumpers and other forms of heavy traffic will not be allowed to operate during these two days.

Traffic police officials said that all dumper owners have been informed of the restriction, warning that strict action will be taken against any heavy vehicle found violating the ban.

The ban has been imposed to ensure public safety during the large-scale religious processions, rallies, and gatherings expected across the city. A significant number of participants are expected to travel on motorcycles and on foot, raising concerns about road safety and congestion.

Authorities say the measure aims to prevent traffic disruptions, accidents, and other untoward incidents during the religious festivities, which typically see thousands gather in various parts of the city.
