PESHAWAR: In a bid to curb incidents of harassment against women, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have decided to install ‘Pink Buttons’ across the province.

According to the Central Police Office, the initiative will be launched in Peshawar, where 68 Pink Buttons will be installed in the first phase at locations with higher female mobility.

The system is aimed at providing women with an immediate tool to report harassment and seek assistance, marking a significant step toward improving women’s safety and security in public spaces.

The Central Police Office(CPO) has said that the newly introduced ‘Pink Buttons’ will allow women to immediately alert police in case of harassment incidents.

The buttons will remain directly connected to the Police Control Room, transmitting both video and audio of the complainant as soon as they are pressed, ensuring swift response.
