ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has addressed a major inconvenience for citizens who previously had to visit Union Councils for birth and death registrations.

In a significant step towards a “Digital Pakistan,” NADRA has introduced an online system enabling citizens to register births and deaths from the comfort of their homes.

Through the Pak ID mobile application, people can now submit birth and death registration requests directly to their respective Union Councils without the need for in-person visits.

In an initial phase this facility has been provided in the following districts: Chakwal (71 Union Councils), Jhelum (44 Union Councils) and Nankana Sahib (65 Union Councils)

NADRA said that under a step -by -step program, this facility will be provided throughout Pakistan.
