Pakistan denies reports of nationals involved in Ukraine war

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly rejected reports alleging the involvement of its citizens in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson, the allegations were termed baseless and without evidence.

The spokesperson clarified that Ukrainian authorities have so far not provided any verifiable proof to support such claims.

Furthermore, the spokesperson added that Pakistan has not been officially notified by Ukrainian officials regarding the matter.

The Government of Pakistan will seek clarification from Ukrainian authorities on the issue.

The Foreign Office added that Pakistan wants a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict and believes in dialogue and diplomacy in accordance with UN principles.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a statement that Russia, several countries in the Ukraine war are fighting against Russia and against Ukraine and they include people from Pakistan and China.
