PDMA Punjab celebrates Independence Day with vow of commitment

Lahore: The head office of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab was the setting for a dignified ceremony to commemorate Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day and the “Maarka-e-Haq” (The Righteous Battle).

The event was attended by Director General PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia, along with other senior officials and employees, who gathered to celebrate the national holiday and renew their pledge to the country.

The celebration was marked by a festive atmosphere, which included a cake-cutting ceremony to share the joy of the anniversary. DG Irfan Ali Kathia extended his heartfelt wishes to the nation, congratulating all citizens on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day.

He emphasized that the day serves as a solemn reminder of the nation’s immense sacrifices and a renewed commitment to its future.

During the ceremony, DG Kathia spoke passionately about the importance of the day. “Independence is a great blessing, and August 14 is a day to renew our vows to this nation,” he stated. He added that the “Maarka-e-Haq” has “doubled the happiness of Independence Day.” He also took a moment to pay tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the protection of the country.

In his address, the Director General underscored the collective duty of all citizens. He urged everyone to prioritize national interests over personal gain to ensure the country’s progress and prosperity.

He also issued an important public service announcement, reminding citizens that a rain spell is expected to continue until August 17 and advised everyone to follow the guidelines issued by the PDMA. The event concluded with prayers for the development, prosperity, and security of the nation.
