PM Laptop Loan Scheme 2025 launched to bridge digital divide

ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has launched the Prime Minister Laptop Loan Scheme 2025, a flagship initiative designed to equip young Pakistanis with essential technology and reduce the digital divide.
The program provides laptops through easy, interest-free installment plans, making devices more accessible to students, freelancers, and emerging entrepreneurs who struggle with rising technology costs.
Officials have described the scheme as a strategic investment in Pakistan’s digital economy, aimed at enabling youth to thrive in online education, freelancing markets, and e-commerce ventures.
Under the scheme, applicants may obtain loans of up to PKR 450,000, depending on their device requirements.
Loan Categories
Basic: PKR 150,000
Medium: PKR 300,000
Advanced: PKR 450,000
All loans are repayable through flexible monthly installments spread over several years.
Eligibility
The scheme is open to Pakistani citizens aged 18–35, including university students, freelancers, and young professionals. Priority will be given to candidates from low-income households, while government employees are not eligible.
Required Documents
Applicants must provide:
CNIC (front and back scanned copies)
Recent passport-size photograph
Proof of income (salary slip or guardian’s income statement)
Educational certificates or university admission proof
Freelancers: online work profiles (e.g., Fiverr, Upwork)
Applications will be processed entirely online via the PM Youth Program portal, ensuring transparency and accessibility.
By removing financial barriers, the PM Laptop Loan Scheme 2025 seeks to promote digital literacy, equal opportunity, and youth empowerment, positioning Pakistan’s young generation to compete in global knowledge-based industries.
