KARACHI: A video showing a child being electrocuted by an electric pole near Shafiq Mor in New Karachi has gone viral on social media following the recent spell of rain in the city.

The footage shows locals using a wooden stick to pull away the 10-year-old boy, who was in contact with the pole. He was later rushed to a hospital in critical condition.

In this regard, the K-Electric spokesperson said the incident was caused by the street light pool, not within the jurisdiction of the of K-E.

Meanwhile, two brothers lost their lives in Shah Faisal Colony area of ​​Karachi, whose death was registered.

The complainant, Sultan Muhammad, has stated that the deaths of his sons occurred due to an underground electric cable.

However, K-Electric, in its initial investigation, claimed that no evidence of leakage was found from its power infrastructure at the location.

The utility added that cables of other service providers were present on telephone poles in the area, which were not properly earthed.
