The 77th death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, is being observed across the country today with deep reverence and respect.

The day began with special prayers in mosques for the eternal peace of Quaid-e-Azam’s soul, along with supplications for the country’s peace, stability, and prosperity. Various seminars, exhibitions are being organized by educational institutions, government departments, and civil society organizations across the country. Political leaders, students, historians, and citizens from all walks of life are paying homage to Jinnah’s remarkable leadership and unwavering commitment to the rights of Muslims in the subcontinent.

Jinnah, who passed away on September 11, 1948, just over a year after the creation of Pakistan, continues to be remembered for his unwavering commitment, visionary leadership, and the principles of unity, faith, and discipline that he laid down for the nation.

To mark the occasion, Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television are airing special programs that highlight Quaid-e-Azam’s pivotal role in the creation of an independent homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent and his contributions to the ideological foundations of Pakistan.

President Asif Ali Zardari’s Message:

In his message, President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam, calling him an extraordinary leader who altered the course of history through his vision and principled politics.

“We are grateful to Quaid-e-Azam for giving Muslims of the subcontinent a separate homeland where we can live in accordance with Islamic principles,” said the President.

He emphasized that Jinnah envisioned a state rooted in justice, equality, tolerance, and democracy, where all citizens—regardless of religion, caste, or race—would enjoy equal rights.

Referring to the treatment of minorities in India under the current regime, the President noted that Jinnah’s two-nation theory has stood the test of time, with even Indian minorities now realizing that their fundamental rights are under threat.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Message:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also issued a heartfelt message, calling Quaid-e-Azam one of the greatest leaders in world history. He urged the nation to renew its commitment to Jinnah’s ideals and to run the state system in accordance with his wise and inclusive political vision.

“Quaid-e-Azam laid the foundation of the world’s first Islamic ideological state, which was to ensure religious freedom, social justice, and equal opportunities for all,” said the Prime Minister.

He highlighted that Quaid-e-Azam’s teachings offer a roadmap for Pakistan’s progress, prosperity, and transformation into a modern Islamic welfare state.

The Prime Minister concluded with a call to the nation to preserve and promote Jinnah’s legacy, and to instill his teachings in future generations.
