Bilawal Bhutto urges waiver of electricity bills for flood-hit farmers

MUZAFFARGARH: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has called for the waiver of electricity bills for farmers affected by recent floods in Punjab.
Speaking to flood victims in the Thatta Sial area of Muzaffargarh, Bilawal said that farmers should be provided with free electricity relief, along with timely access to seeds and fertilizers to help them recover their livelihoods.
He further proposed launching a nationwide appeal to support the flood-hit population, stressing that this was not a time for political point-scoring.
“This is not about where the affected people come from. In these difficult times, it is our collective responsibility to stand with the people and extend every possible support,” the PPP chairman said.
Bilawal emphasized that urgent measures were needed to assist the farming community, which has suffered extensive losses due to widespread flooding in the region.
Bilawal Bhutto once again demanded the government to impose agricultural emergency and said that the federal government will have to work with the provincial government, the means of reaching proper help to the deserving victims.
