ISLAMABAD: A local court in Islamabad has issued an arrest warrant of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in connection with a liquor and arms recovery case.
During the hearing, Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti issued arrest warrants against the KP Chief Minister, directing authorities to produce him before the court on September 17, 2025. No representative appeared in court on his behalf. The case is registered at Bara Kahu Police Station.
Earlier, on July 29, 2025, the Peshawar High Court had barred police from arresting Gandapur after the Islamabad Civil Court issued warrants against him.
The PHC ruling, on a petition filed by Gandapur, directed that he should not be arrested until July 29, provided he appeared before the relevant courts.
Prior to that, on July 21, 2025, an Islamabad sessions court had also ordered his arrest in the same case. Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti had issued warrants while rejecting Gandapur’s request for exemption from personal appearance.
The court had further observed that the accused was given a final opportunity to record his statement under Section 342, warning that his right to do so would otherwise be forfeited. The hearing was then adjourned.
