KHYBER: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) killed three terrorists, including the mastermind of the Chamkani suicide attack, during an operation near Lala Cheena in Khyber district.

According to CTD officials, the raid targeted members of a banned militant outfit.

During the encounter, the group’s commander, Fazal Noor, managed to escape along with other accomplices, but three terrorists were killed. The slain militants have been identified as Naeem, Kareem, and Noor Nabi.

According to the CTD, Noor Nabi was a resident of Nangarhar area of ​​Afghanistan, terrorists Naeem and Karim Chamkani were the mastermind of a suicide attack. CTD officials said 3 SMGs, 12 magazines and 135 cartridges were recovered from the dead terrorists.

Authorities said efforts are underway to track down the fleeing commander and his associates.

Officials confirmed that the terrorists were involved in the May 11 suicide attack in the Chamkani police station jurisdiction, in which Sub-Inspector and two other police personnel were martyred.
