SUKKUR: A camel that suffered severe injuries after being brutally assaulted in Saleh Pat, Sukkur, has been shifted to Karachi for advanced medical treatment, officials confirmed on Saturday.

According to the Chairman of the District Council, the camel received initial medical attention in Sukkur before being immediately transported to Karachi.

The incident occurred a day earlier when the animal reportedly entered a field to drink water, angering an influential landlord. The camel’s owner alleged that the landlord broke the animal’s leg, tied it to a tractor, dragged it, and struck its face with sticks.

The owner further claimed that when he took the injured camel to a local hospital, doctors refused to provide treatment.

The case has sparked widespread outrage, with animal rights activists demanding strict action against those responsible for the cruelty.
