MALDIVES: Pakistan notched their third straight win in the Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship after edging past hosts Maldives in a thrilling contest.

In their third match of the event, Pakistan defeated the Maldives 2-1, staging a strong comeback after losing the opening set.

The final scores stood at 15-16, 22-10, and 7-6 in Pakistan’s favor, sealing yet another impressive victory for the team.

Kashif Ali was named Man of the Match for his standout performance, scoring 11 crucial points and playing a central role in the team’s comeback.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan secured a 2-0 win over Sri Lanka in the morning session, following their opening 2-0 victory against arch-rivals India the previous night maintaining an unbeaten run in the tournament so far.

Speaking after the match, team captain Ahmed Hussain said,

“We knew playing against the hosts would be tough, but the team showed Great Spirit. Every player stepped up when it mattered, especially in the final set.”

With three wins in three matches, Pakistan currently sits at the top of the table. The team is set to face Bangladesh and South Africa in their upcoming fixtures tomorrow, hoping to carry forward their momentum.
