ISLAMABAD: On the International Day of Peace, Pakistan is being hailed globally for its unwavering commitment to world peace, as the country’s armed forces continue to stand at the frontlines of United Nations peacekeeping missions risking their lives to protect those caught in conflict.

With over 235,000 troops having served in 48 UN peace missions across 29 countries, Pakistan ranks among the top contributors to global peacekeeping efforts. Whether in war-torn Africa or conflict-ridden regions of the Middle East, Pakistani peacekeepers have delivered professionalism, bravery, and compassion in the world’s most dangerous zones.

Pakistan’s peacekeeping missions reflect its longstanding commitment to the UN Charter. As a responsible nation, Pakistan continues to provide full cooperation and access to UN observers, ensuring smooth execution of peacekeeping mandates.

“Pakistan is proud of its historic role in advancing peace and stability around the world,” said an official statement.
“Our peacekeepers have set an example through courage and service and that commitment will continue.”
