ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has completed preparations to launch its first advanced hyperspectral satellite into space in October 2025, according to the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO).

Developed under SUPARCO’s leadership, the satellite is expected to play a vital role in mineral exploration and agricultural development, while also enhancing capabilities in flood monitoring, glacier melt research, and air pollution studies.

Chairman SUPARCO Muhammad Yousaf said the satellite will provide accurate data on minerals, vegetation, soil, and water quality, reducing the time required for surveys from years to just a few days.

He added that this milestone will pave the way for the efficient utilization of natural resources in Pakistan.
