Tauris Habib, a Pakistani-origin sound engineer, has made history by becoming the first Pakistani to win a Grammy Award in the field of sound engineering.

According to international media, Habib showcased his expertise in February while working on the soundtrack of Dune: Part Two alongside world-renowned composer Hans Zimmer.

His outstanding contribution was recognized not only in Hollywood but across the globe, ultimately earning him the prestigious Grammy Award.

His contribution to the film’s sound design drew widespread critical acclaim, culminating in the Grammy win a landmark moment for both his personal career and Pakistan’s presence in global cinema.

“I’m incredibly grateful to be recognized with a Grammy Award for my work on Dune: Part Two,” Habib shared in a social media post. “This is truly one of the most memorable moments of my life.”

Interestingly, Habib chose to keep the achievement private until the award trophy was physically delivered to his home. He only announced the milestone this week, sharing photos of the Grammy and expressing gratitude for the recognition. In his post, he also clarified that while he is the first Pakistani to win in the field of sound engineering, he is the second Pakistani overall to receive a Grammy.

His achievement is being celebrated across Pakistan, particularly within the creative and film industries, where his success is seen as an inspiration for aspiring technical professionals and artists alike.
