PD issues report on electricity restoration in flood-hit areas

ISLAMABAD: The Power Division has released a comprehensive report detailing electricity restoration efforts in flood-affected regions across Pakistan.

 

PESCO: Restoration Progress in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

 

The report stated that 12 grids and 91 feeders of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) were affected. So far, 85 feeders have been fully restored, while six remain partially functional.

Power supply in Swabi and Dera Ismail Khan has been fully restored, while Swat, Buner, and Shangla are expected to achieve complete restoration within two to seven days.

 

GEPCO: 87 Feeders Impacted

 

In the Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) region, 10 grids and 87 feeders were affected. Of these, 80 feeders have been restored, while seven are partially operational.

LESCO: Full Restoration Expected by September 5

 

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) reported 59 affected feeders, out of which 57 have been partially restored. Complete restoration is expected between September 2 and 5.

 

FESCO: Temporary Restoration in Most Areas

In the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) area, 26 grids and 73 feeders were hit. Only one feeder has been fully restored, while 72 have been temporarily restored.

 

MEPCO: Temporary Supply Maintained

 

The Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) reported that all 114 affected feeders have been temporarily restored. Complete restoration will begin once floodwaters recede.

TESCO: North Waziristan and Khyber Affected

 

The Tribal Areas Electric Supply Company (TESCO) confirmed 10 feeders were impacted in North Waziristan and Khyber. Of these, one feeder is fully restored, while four are temporarily operational.

 

HAZECO: Mansehra Feeder Recovery

The Hazara Electric Supply Company (HAZECO) reported three feeders affected in Mansehra, of which two have been fully restored.

 

Nationwide Overview

 

Overall, flooding across the country damaged 48 grids and 437 feeders. So far, 169 feeders have been fully restored, while 260 are temporarily functional, the Power Division confirmed.
