LAHORE: The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert for the 10th spell of monsoon rains.

According to the PDMA, heavy downpours are forecast across most districts of the province from September 6 to 9, with the possibility of flash flooding in certain areas.

A PDMA spokesperson said that during this spell, rainfall is expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Lahore, and Sialkot.

Meanwhile, showers are also likely in Narowal, Hafizabad, Okara, Sahiwal, Kasur, Sargodha, Mianwali, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Rajanpur.

According to the PDMA spokesperson, there is also a risk of flash flooding in hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan between September 7 and 9.

On the other hand, DG PDMA Punjab Irfan Ali Kathia says that the river is facing flood situation in the river Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej, while in major cities, monsoon rains can flow.
