Former actress Areej Fatima, who stepped away from the entertainment world to embrace a spiritually devoted life, has completed the sacred pilgrimage of Umrah alongside her family. The journey holds profound significance for Fatima, who previously triumphed over a life-threatening illness.

Known for her poise and personal transformation, Areej shared the deeply emotional experience with her followers through a reflective post on Instagram. The actress, who once graced television screens across Pakistan, now continues to inspire through her commitment to faith and healing.

In her message, Areej described the peace she felt while performing Umrah following the night prayer.

“Alhamdulillah, we completed our Umrah peacefully after Isha, with hearts full of gratitude to Allah,” she wrote, conveying the calm and spiritual fulfillment that defined her journey.

She also highlighted the honor of offering prayers within the Hateem, a sacred enclosure beside the Kaaba, and of being able to inscribe her family’s names on the Kiswah, the cloth covering the Kaaba.

“It was a moment of great honour to pray in the Hateem and write my loved ones’ names on the Kiswah,” she shared.

Areej also reflected on a powerful moment of restraint near the Black Stone (Al-Hajar al-Aswad). Although she was within reach, she chose not to advance due to the overwhelming crowd.

“I was just a few steps away from the Black Stone, but I stepped back. Sometimes, holding back is also a form of worship,” she noted.

She concluded her post with a thoughtful reminder to fellow pilgrims, encouraging them to remain spiritually focused rather than distracted by capturing photos.

“Avoid taking pictures during Umrah. Let others capture the moment your focus should be on prayer and presence.”
