British King revokes Prince Andrew’s title amid scandal

British King
LONDON: Britain’s King Charles has officially stripped his younger brother, Prince Andrew, of the title “Prince” and all remaining royal privileges following renewed public scrutiny over serious allegations.
According to foreign media reports, all royal honors, titles, and official residences previously granted to Andrew will be formally revoked by the King. This includes his royal patronages, honorary positions, and state-funded residence.
Earlier this month, Prince Andrew renounced his Duke of York title and other royal designations after facing allegations of sexual misconduct — claims he has repeatedly denied. Following the King’s decision, he will now be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten.
Reports suggest that Andrew will move to the private Sandringham Estate, which will be personally funded by the King.
In a statement, Buckingham Palace reaffirmed that the King’s “sympathies remain with the victims and survivors” and that the monarchy stands firm on matters of accountability and moral responsibility.
The decision follows the publication of a book by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, an American woman who accused Andrew of sexually abusing her in London, New York, and the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2001, when she was only 17 years old.
