Hollywood icon Diane Keaton passes away

Diane Keaton, the iconic American actress and Academy Award recipient, has passed away at the age of 79. A family spokesperson confirmed that the revered Hollywood star died in California.

Born Diane Hall in Los Angeles in 1946, she was the eldest of four siblings. Her father was a civil engineer, and her mother a creatively inclined homemaker nurtured Keaton’s artistic instincts from an early age.
Fuelled by a deep passion for performance and storytelling, she began her professional acting career in the late 1960s.
Keaton rose to international prominence in 1972 with her role as Kay Adams in Francis Ford Coppola’s seminal masterpiece, The Godfather. The film, now regarded as one of the greatest in cinematic history, earned the Academy Award for Best Picture and catapulted Keaton into the global spotlight.
Her portrayal was lauded for its emotional depth and nuance, setting the tone for a remarkable career.
She later became a frequent collaborator and muse to director Woody Allen, appearing in several of his most acclaimed films.
