Karachi: Veteran Pakistani actor and writer Mohsin Gilani broke down during an emotional television appearance as he opened up about the tragic death of his daughter a loss he tearfully attributed to alleged medical negligence. He said the devastating incident has left a profound and lasting impact on both his personal life and professional career.

His daughter Fatima passed away due to complications following childbirth. Gilani revealed that her condition deteriorated rapidly, and he held the hospital staff responsible for negligence in properly monitoring her vital signs.

With his voice trembling and eyes filled with tears, Mohsin Gilani recalled the shattering moment his daughter breathed her last in his arms.

“I don’t know whether to call it medical negligence or fate, but my daughter died in my arms. Her last words still echo in my ears ‘Baba, I’m dying, my soul is leaving my body,’” he recounted with visible pain.

Adding to the trauma, Mohsin Gilani expressed deep anguish over the bystanders who began recording the incident on their phones instead of offering help.

“What can a father do in that situation? The most painful thing was people filming the moment. I didn’t even have the strength to question them,” he said, holding back tears.

The actor also spoke about the emotional toll of returning to work shortly after the tragedy, revealing that his first scene back on set painfully mirrored his own loss.

“I stayed in Multan for 15 to 20 days. When I came back, my first shoot was a Rukhsati scene a father giving away his daughter. There were drums playing, people celebrating, and I had to perform through it all. Only I know what I went through during those moments.”

Mohsin Gilani, a respected name in the entertainment industry, has received widespread acclaim for his performances in numerous hit dramas. His heart-wrenching account serves as a powerful reminder of the silent battles many public figures face behind the scenes.
