Pakistan honors flood rescuers on National Resilience Day

Lahore: Today, Pakistan observes National Resilience Day, a day dedicated to acknowledging the spirit of endurance and preparedness in the face of disasters. To honor this occasion, the Punjab government is recognizing the exceptional efforts of rescue workers who played a crucial role during the recent devastating floods.

As part of the celebrations, 200 rescuers are being awarded cash prizes of Rs. 50,000 each, along with certificates of appreciation, for their relentless dedication and round-the-clock service in flood-affected areas.

This gesture reflects the government’s commitment to valuing the frontline heroes who risk their lives to save others.

According to Rescue Punjab spokesperson Farooq Ahmed, the primary goal of National Resilience Day is to foster the development of a disaster-resilient society that is better prepared to face natural calamities.
