KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has confirmed that the city is currently under the influence of intense heat and severely dry conditions, predicting strong, unremitting sunshine throughout the day.

While the forecast includes a noticeable cooling relief during the hours of dawn and late night, the peak daytime temperatures will remain exceptionally high.

The day’s minimum recorded temperature was 24.5°C, with the current temperature registering at 27°C. Residents should note that the maximum temperature is expected to soar to 38°C later today.

With humidity levels holding firm at a low 31%, the air quality is notably arid. This dry pattern is being sustained by the continued suspension of the vital sea breeze, leaving Karachi’s entire climate system governed by warm, dry air masses streaming from the eastern region.

Crucially, the PMD projects no possibility of rainfall over the city throughout the course of the coming week.
