Acclaimed Pakistani-American musician Sherjan Ahmad has joined forces on “This New Age,” a track now officially in the running for Best Alternative Rock Music Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

The song was first written in 1984 by the legendary producer and songwriter Larry Dvoskin, whose past collaborations include icons such as David Bowie, The Beach Boys, and Robert Plant.

After remaining unheard for nearly four decades, Larry decided to revisit the track this year, reaching out to Sherjan Ahmad, Taylor Simpson, and Familiar Faces to bring the song back to life.

Sherjan reflects, “When Larry invited me to collaborate on this song, I was both honored and excited. The song explores deep questions about where humanity is headed, and the beauty of this project was seeing artists from completely different cultural backgrounds unite to create something timeless.”

The song’s revival took place earlier this year through a dynamic collaboration that spans generations and cultures:
