London: UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has welcomed the news of an agreement on the first phase of the Gaza peace plan, saying it marks a moment of hope for the world especially for the hostages, their families, and the civilians of Gaza who have endured unimaginable hardship over the past two years.

Reacting to the development, Prime Minister Starmer said, “This is a moment that brings relief and hope not only to the entire world but particularly to those who have suffered so much — the hostages, their families, and the people of Gaza.”

He expressed gratitude for the tireless diplomatic efforts led by Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the United States, with support from regional partners, that made this crucial first step possible.
“This agreement must now be implemented in full without delay, and all restrictions on life-saving humanitarian aid to Gaza must be lifted immediately,” he stressed.

The Prime Minister further appealed to all parties to honor their commitments, end the conflict, and lay the foundation for a just and lasting resolution.
