Death toll in Israel’s war on Gaza surpasses 69,000
Gaza: Despite a declared ceasefire, Israeli attacks on Gaza have continued, with the death toll since October 8, 2023, exceeding 69,000, according to Arab media reports.
Rescue teams are still searching through the rubble of destroyed buildings and other sites for the bodies of Palestinians buried under the debris.
Meanwhile, Israel has handed over the bodies of 15 more Palestinian prisoners to Palestinian authorities.
In response, Hamas returned the body of another captive to Israel, leaving five captives’ bodies still in Gaza.
Elsewhere, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have also continued, resulting in the deaths of three people.
Earlier, The Palestinian group Hamas has strongly condemned Kazakhstan’s decision to join the Abraham Accords, calling it a betrayal of the Palestinian cause and an act that ignores the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Gaza.
In an statement, Hamas said that Kazakhstan’s move to normalize relations with Israel is equivalent to establishing ties with a fascist regime that continues to commit crimes against the Palestinian people on a daily basis.
The statement further noted that Israeli leaders are wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes, and that any Muslim or Arab country seeking closer relations with Israel is acting against moral and humanitarian values.
Hamas also urged all Arab and Islamic nations to sever ties with Israel and to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom and justice.
Hamas called for international support to “strengthen the resilience of the Palestinian people and back their legitimate struggle to achieve freedom, independence, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.”
