Karachi Zoo’s female bear ‘Rano’ shifted to Islamabad

KARACHI: In compliance with the Sindh High Court’s orders, the female bear “Rano” from the Karachi Zoo has been transferred to Islamabad, officials confirmed.

According to BOL News, a special team from the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board arrived in Karachi to take custody of Rano. The bear was placed in a specially designed wooden crate and flown to Islamabad aboard a C-130 aircraft.

The plane is expected to land at Noor Khan Airbase shortly after noon. A three-member team from the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board accompanied Rano during the journey.

Authorities stated that all arrangements for Rano’s care and accommodation have been finalized at the Margalla Wildlife Rescue Centre, where she will now reside in a safer and more natural environment.
