More rains and snowfall over hills expected in Islamabad, Pakistan

Rain and isolated hailstorms are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and several other parts of Pakistan on Tuesday, while snowfall is likely on the hills.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air is dominating most parts of the country, and a weak westerly weather system is affecting Kashmir and nearby regions, moving slowly towards the northeast.

Due to these conditions, more rain with gusty winds and snowfall over the hills is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Tuesday night. Rain and isolated hailstorms are also likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, northeastern Punjab, the Potohar region, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Other central and southern parts of the country are expected to remain dry.

On Wednesday, most areas of Pakistan will experience dry weather, although Gilgit-Baltistan may see cloudy skies with light rain.

In Islamabad, the minimum temperature is likely to stay between 12°C and 14°C on Wednesday, between 11°C and 13°C on Thursday, and between 10°C and 12°C on Friday. In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature is expected to range between 14°C and 16°C on Wednesday, 13°C and 15°C on Thursday, and 12°C and 14°C on Friday.

During the past 24 hours, several regions including upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, upper Punjab, Islamabad, and Gilgit-Baltistan received rain along with snowfall on the hills. Meanwhile, smog was reported in some districts of Punjab.

Gilgit-Baltistan: Gupis 03

Snowfall (Inches): Malam Jabba 03, Kalam 01

Today\’s Recorded Lowest Minimum Temperatures (°C): Leh -03, Skardu -01, and Babusar 01.

Leh remained the coldest place in Pakistan, where the mercury dropped 03°C below the freezing point. The minimum temperature in Skardu was recorded at -01°C.

In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 13°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 69 percent.

In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature was recorded at 15°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 59 percent.
