“From overseeing boat and helicopter operations to engaging young people in ocean sustainability initiatives, the lifeguards here truly are the unsung heroes of Copacabana.”

The Prince reflected on the meaningful role of beach volleyball beyond just recreation, acknowledging the social purpose behind the sport. He shared:

“Playing beach volleyball at Copacabana was a wonderful experience. It was a privilege to join @carol_solberg’s volleyball academy, an initiative that enriches the lives of underprivileged youth through sports. A truly remarkable endeavor.”

Olympian Carolina Solberg, who played alongside Prince William, expressed her admiration for his sporting ability. According to Hello magazine, she said:

“He’s tall and hits the ball with strength. With a little more practice, I believe he could be excellent. It was clear he enjoyed the game, and it was a real pleasure to play alongside him. It was an honor.”
