The Punjab Home Department has extended the enforcement of Section 144 for another seven days across the province, according to a spokesperson on Sunday.

A notification issued by the provincial government said the restrictions will stay in effect until Saturday, November 8, 2025.

The spokesperson explained that all types of protests, rallies, sit-ins, public gatherings, and similar activities will continue to be banned. Under Section 144, people are not allowed to gather in groups of four or more in public places.

Officials said the decision to extend Section 144 was taken to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of people and property.

However, the restrictions will not affect wedding events, funeral prayers, or burials. Government employees on duty, officials, and court activities are also exempt from the ban.
