Rains, snowfall decrease temperatures in Islamabad, Pakistan
Light rain and snowfall in the northern areas have led to a drop in temperatures across Islamabad and other parts of Pakistan.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said that mainly dry weather is expected in most regions, while hilly areas will remain cold over the next two days.
Continental air is dominating most parts of the country, keeping conditions dry. However, light fog or smog may form in some plain areas of Punjab. In Islamabad, minimum temperatures are expected to stay between 8°C and 10°C Thursday and between 07°C and 09°C on Friday and Saturday.
Rawalpindi’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 13°C and 15°C on Thursday and between 12°C and 14°C on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, rains with snowfall over the hills occurred in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, northeast Punjab, Islamabad, and Gilgit-Baltistan during the last 24 hours. An isolated hailstorm also occurred during the period. Wet spell caused a considerable decrease in temperatures during the day and at night.

Kalam remained the coldest place in Pakistan, where the mercury dropped 04°C below the freezing point. The minimum temperature in Leh was recorded at -02°C, and in Gupis, Astore and Ziarat at -01°C.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 09°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 48 percent.
In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature was recorded at 15°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 44 per cent.
