Corruption of billions of rupees has been revealed in National Highway Authority (NHA) projects under previous governments.

According to the details, federal minister Murad Saeed presented the report of corruption in NHA projects under previous governments to Auditor General of Pakistan.

In the report, corruption in NHA projects of Lowari Tunnel and Gawadar-Ratto Dero project has been highlighted.

According to the report, in Lowari Tunnel project national exchequer was incurred a loss of Rs3.5 billion. Meanwhile in Gawadar-Ratto Dero project the loss incurred was Rs420 million.

In the report it is highlighted that through delay tactics huge losses were incurred to national exchequer. Extra amount was paid to contractors.

The report also highlights that tenders were awarded to favorite people and no open tender was followed.

In the name of fuel Rs1 billion was paid extra. Another Rs190 million was paid without any reason.

On the request of Murad Saeed, the case has been sent to Prime Minister inquiry commission.

Murad Saeed said that inquiry commission will identify people involved in corruption.
