Another incident of target killing has been reported in the metropolis, as a doctor was shot dead by the target killers.

According to details, an orthopedic doctor Askari Haider was shot dead in Gulshan e Iqbal area.

As per the Police officials, Doctor’s car was at KDA market when he was hit by a gunshot in his chest.

Police further said that the investigations are being conducted as this is an act of terrorism, whereas, victim’s family claimed that he was being threatened since long.

Doctor Askari Haider’s family told the police that he was leaving for Jumma prayers when target killers attacked him.

Doctor Askari Haider worked at Government Hospital and Rab Medical Centre, which is located in Gulshan e Iqbal.

He was being threatened by unknown men since very long, his family stated.

MQM Minister Allama Baqir Zaidi condemned the incident and stated that such incidents of genocide before Muharram ul Haram are lamentable.

An immediate notice of the incident should be taken and the guilty should be held with efficient investigations, he added.
