Earthquake rattles Punjab and KP

Powerful 5.9-magnitude earthquake rattled in several parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday early morning.

As per details, quakes were felt in different parts of KP and Punjab including twin cities Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Earthquake tremors were also felt in Peshawar, Kalabagh, Swabi, Kohat and Gardwah, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Malakand, Hangu and Gurdwara districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and have left the people in panic.

The quakes were felt in Lahore, Jalalpur Bhatti, and Gurdwara in Punjab, Jhang, Chakwal, Hazara, Mardan, Swat, DG Khan, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh, Narowal and surrounding areas.

Different areas of North Waziristan were also affected by the quake.

The magnitude of the earthquake was 5.9 and the depth was 279 km, recorded on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was Afghanistan.

No casualties or damage to the property reported as a result of the quake.
