President Dr. Arif Alvi said in a statement, that global warming is the reason behind water scarcity.

While addressing an event of Hisaar Foundation on water shortages, Dr. Arif Alvi stated that the work which was done by ex-Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar is admirable.

Dr. Arif Alvi further stated on the water scarcity, that the water from Kotri barrage, which is wasted in ocean, should be stored.

Water stored at Kotri barrage can be used in agriculture, he added.

He pointed out India’s violations of Indus Water Treaty and said that Indus Water Treaty should be taken to United Nations, an organization which raises water issues actively.

Pakistan is the third biggest country who gives charity, he added.

Pakistan’s relations with India has worsened with time. However, India went to International Court instead of negotiating with Pakistan on Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case, said President Dr. Arif Alvi while addressing the event.
