Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Authority has accelerated a major breakdown against blending mafia in Mardan, over public complains.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Authority under the supervision of Director General, carried out a massive crackdown against the adulteration mafia in Mardan and sealed four units of a bakery over multiple violations of the Food Authority act.

Food Authority sealed the units producing fake beverage and seized the machines which were used to produce fake soft drinks. Whereas, 10 thousand liters toxic beverage was wasted to stop its sale.

During the crackdown, beverage distribution unit was also sealed over violation of Storage Sops. However, a mega mart was sealed over exporting more than 30 kilograms of dry milk, ketchup and 20 kilograms of labelled nimko.

Moreover, Licenses of two mega marts and four bakeries have been cancelled for violating Food Safety Standards. Whereas, 12 people were taken into police custody during the crackdown.

While talking to the media, DG Food Authority said, there’s no place for blending Mafia in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Such inspections will be done by the teams of Food Authority to ensure the supply of standard food in the market.
