Pak Navy siezes 1600kg of Hashish near Gawadar

Pakistan Navy, in an offshore operation near Gawadar, has seized 1600 kilograms of hashish.

Navy Spokesperson said that the critical operation was carried out in collaboration with the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), who supervised and kept a close check on the suspected vessel containing drugs as well as the entire operation.

Hashish that was seized during the operation valued of US dollars 32 million, said that spokesperson in the details.

Navy carried out this complex operation on the basis of continuous surveillance and mutual cooperation of the Anti-narcotics Force.

The spokesman said that the drugs have been handed over to ANF for further investigation.

The operation shows alertness of the Pak Navy to protect its maritime boundaries, said the spokesperson.

Pak Navy had earlier conducted an intelligence-based anti-narcotics operation in the sea near Karachi’s Mubarak village during which 675 kilograms of hashish and 4kg of heroin were seized worth around Rs 300 million, which was being transported through sea.

The cache was subsequently handed over to ANF for further disposal.

The successful execution of the operation against narcotics’ smuggling was the result of effective monitoring/ surveillance and demonstrates Pakistan Navy’s perseverance to deter, disrupt and deny the use of our sea/coastline for any unlawful activities.

Pakistan Navy will continue to fulfill its national responsibilities with the highest level of commitment and dedication.
