Leader of the opposition and chairman Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Shahbaz Sharif has said that “Rich Tareen” wizardry has worked in Senate elections.

According to the details, while addressing media outside Senate, Shahbaz Sharif has said that failure in removing chairman Senate through election is a defeat of democracy.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar has announced that he will resign amid failure in chairman senate elections.

PPP senator said that seat belongs to the party.

Earlier, opposition parties with clear majority were unable to remove chairman senate through voting held today.

Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif chaired the Senate session in which polling took place. The polling for selecting chairman senate ended after which vote count started.

The opposition’s motion to remove chairman senate failed as the motion only got 50 votes out of required 53.
