Anti-terrorism court (ATC) Lahore issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek Insaf leader Aleem Khan here on Friday.

The arrest warrant was issued after Aleem Khan failed to appear before the court despite numerous summon notices.

Earlier, Aleem Khan was nominated in an FIR pertaining to PTI sit in in Islamabad. The court ordered to present Aleem Khan before the court on 30th September. Now, Aleem Khan can be arrested at any moment.

The ATC is hearing four cases against the PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek leaders on the attack on the state television building, Parliament and SSP Asmatullah Junejo.

Before this Aleem Khan was taken into custody over the allegations of possessing assets beyond means.

Aleem Khan is central figure of the ruling party and he was among the front runners for CM Punjab slot.

In August 2014, Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri took to streets in Islamabad against alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections and Model Town sit-in. The protest continued for 104 days.

PTI leaders Shireen Mazari, Arif Alvi and Asad Umar were granted bail in the cases earlier this year. The ATC also extended the interim bail of Imran Khan in the four cases in January.
