Prime Minister Imran Khan has said government is making every possible effort to revive Pakistan Steel Mills and making it a profitable organization.

He was chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Friday regarding revival of Pakistan Steel Mills.

The Prime Minister said efforts are being made to end burden on national exchequer by reviving the Mills so that it can play its role in the progress and development of the country.

He said revival of Mills is the top priority of the PTI government.

He said the past governments have committed a great cruelty against the nation by not reviving this lossmaking entity, which had become an additional burden for years.

The Prime Minister was apprised that Chinese and Russian companies have shown interest in reviving the Pakistan Steel Mills and several proposals are under consideration in this regard.

The meeting reviewed various options and efforts being made for the revival of Pakistan Steel Mills.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has scheduled to depart for a visit to China on Monday night while all preparations have been completed his forthcoming visit to Beijing.

The premier will be accompanied by an adviser and three federal ministers including Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Shaikh Rasheed Ahmed and Khusro Bakhtiar.

During his visit, PM Khan will hold discussions with the top leadership of China over Kashmir dispute, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), ML-1 project and other matters of bilateral interests.

Earlier on October 1, it emerged that Prime Minister Imran Khan will embark on a three-day visit to China next week to meet top Chinese leadership.

According to the sources, PM Imran, during his visit, will meet Chinese President XI Jinping and other high-level authorities, to thank them for supporting Pakistan’s stance on the Indian occupied Kashmir issue.
