NAB does not exceed its jurisdiction says Chairman NAB

Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice Javed Iqbal said that the NAB is dedicated to eradicating the plague of corruption from the country.

While addressing the traders’ community in Lahore, the NAB chief said that saving tax and committing money laundering are two different matters.

The Chairman said that the department of NAB is not allowed to take any step that is not in its authority, and also it does not exceed its jurisdiction, he added.

Justice Javed Iqbal said that the NAB have recovered plundered money of rupees 71 billion and deposited the same into national exchequer during last 22 months.

He further said that NAB is assigned to probe the plundered about looted state money and NAB would continue to perform its responsibilities further.

The Chairman said that NAB believes in supremacy of law and NAB has no affiliation with any group or individual.

The NAB has, so far, filed around 1230 References pertaining to approximately Rs 900 billion rupees in accountability courts, he added.

The chairman also rejected the false impression that the NAB is obstructing in National development and said that NAB’s doors are open for all including Business Community and Bureaucracy.

Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal said “We do not believe in victimization”.

Javed Iqbal said that NAB’s performance of in eliminating corruption is being applauded by National and International Organizations, as per Gallup survey, 59 percent of Pakistani public have complete trust on NAB, The chairman added.
