UN Secretary General pays rich tribute to Maleeha Lodhi

United Nations Secretary General António Guterres has said that Pakistan should be proud of Maleeha Lodhi’s services and achievements.

Maleeha Lodhi presented Pakistan’s narrative on every topic and aspect.

According to details, Pakistan’s Representative to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi had a farewell meeting with UN Secretary General, in which she discussed the Afghan peace talks.

UN Secretary General António Guterres paid a rich tribute to Maleeha Lodhi and said that Maleeha Lodhi played vital role in increasing credibility of Pakistan’s narratives with her experience and skills.

Maleeha Lodhi informed António Guterres regarding the ongoing situations in occupied Kashmir and insisted that UN Secretary General should play his role in resolving the dispute.

Dr. Maleeha Lodhi said that Pakistan has always promoted peaceful resolutions. Prime Minister Imran Khan is playing his role in maintaining the regional peace and security by holding talks with Saudi-Irani leadership.

Lodhi made her debut address at the United Nations on 6 February 2015 where she called for ‘addressing the underlying factors responsible for terrorism so as to formulate an effective and comprehensive response’.

On 30 Sep 2019, she was replaced by Munir Akram, on orders of Prime Minister Imran Khan, as Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

Previously, she served as Pakistan’s envoy to the Court of St James’s and twice as its ambassador to the United States.
