Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa called on Notables of Raiwind Tablighi Ijtimaa.

During the meeting, the Army Chief offered Fateha for departed souls in tragic Tezgam train incident. Also prayed for early recovery of the injured.

It is pertinent to mention that on October 31 Dozens have reportedly been wounded, whereas, 71 have been confirmed dead after 3 bogies of Tezgam train caught fire near Liaquatpur.

Tezgam train, which was on its way from Karachi to Rawalpindi, caught fire near Tanori Station Chak no. 6 Chani Goth.

The coach where the cylinder blasted was booked by the Taleeghi Jamaat’s men. They were boiling eggs on the gas stove to have breakfast when it exploded with a huge blast.

Train was stopped at Liaquatpur station, and will be resumed within two hours, Sheikh Rashid confirmed.

Aijaz Ahmad, CEO Pakistan Railways said that the incident occurred after the gas cylinder exploded.

Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid blamed the passengers for bringing stoves into the train, saying Railways was not at fault.

Prime minister expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in the accident and tendered his condolences towards the families whose loved ones died the mishap.
