A contempt of court petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to details, the petition filed by Muhammad Faizan Naseer Chauhan and Tahir Maqsood Butt in the Lahore High Court.

The petition seeking contempt proceedings against the Prime Minister Khan. The petitioner stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan has criticized the performance of the judiciary and also he tried to influence the cases of oppositions by making fabricated statements.

Applicants further stated that it is contempt of court to criticize the judges and decisions of the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court in 2013 has issued a contempt of court notice to Imran Khan against the judiciary.

The petitioner took the stand that the Supreme Court had given punishment to other politicians, including Talal Chaudhry and Nehal Hashmi, for giving anti-judicial statement.

The petitioner sought the disqualification of Prime Minister Imran Khan and requested the contempt of court proceedings against the Prime Minister.
