PM meets Global Fund Executives delegation

Prime Minister Imran Khan met a delegation of Executives from the Global Fund, led by the Fund’s Executive Director Peter Sands.

During the meeting Minister for National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Dr. Zafar Mirza was also present.

The Global Fund delegation briefed Prime Minister Imran Khan that the Global Fund is helping to end TB, malaria and HIV in Pakistan.

The delegation said that Global Fund has established 400 centers in Punjab to diagnose TB.

The Global Fund delegation added that the government is committed to providing the best healthcare facilities to all segments of society.

Due to ineffective screening system many cases of TB could not be diagnosed, the delegation shared the plan with Imran Khan for the diagnosis of TB.

Prime Minister said that under the “Ehsas” flagship program, some private hospitals had been enlist , and the proposed initiative could be shared with these hospitals to address the incidence of TB in Balochistan, interior Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and South Punjab.

The Premier also assured the Global Fund delegation of all possible cooperation from the government towards effective implementation of the proposed initiative.

The delegation shared proposals related to the on-ground execution plan with National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Division for effective screening and eradication of TB.
