Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday announced to launch ‘Ehsaas undergraduate Scholarship program’.

In a series of tweet, PM announced the launching of Ehsaas undergraduate Scholarship program which is the largest ever need based undergraduate program in the history of Pakistan.

Under this program, two hundred thousand scholarships will be awarded over the next four years, he said.

I will launch the largest ever needs-based undergraduate scholarship programme in the history of Pakistan today. 200,000 scholarships will be awarded over the next 4 years, 50,000 every year, 50% of these for women to promote human capital development under my @Ehsaas_Pk umbrella

He further said that fifty percent of these scholarships will go to women to promote human capital development under the umbrella of Ehsaas program.

Special Assistant on Social Protection & Poverty Alleviation Sania Nishtar said the PTI government is committed to promoting financial access to education and offers an equal opportunity to women.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan launched “Kamyab Jawan Program” to economically empower youth.

Under the program, a vast array of projects and initiatives would be taken in education, skill training, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement for country’s youth.

Speaking at the ceremony at the Jinnah Convention Centre, the prime minister congratulated Usman Dar, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, and his team for their efforts in launching the program.

PM Imran Khan said Kamyab Jawan Programme is a merit-based initiative, adding that merit is the most important thing for any nation to prosper in the world.

He also stressed the need to promote the culture of taxes in the country which he said is the only way to take the country forward.
