Polling for vacant Senate seat underway in KPK

Polling for the by-election on the vacant seat of the senate from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has begun at a provincial assembly in Peshawar.

According to the details, the polling will continue till 4 pm without any break.

Two candidates are in the run for the seat including Zeeshan Khanzada of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Farzand Ali Khan of Pakistan People’s Party.

A total of one hundred and forty-five members of the provincial assembly will cast their votes.

The general seat fell vacant due to the resignation of Khan Zada Khan of PPP when he joined Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf.

The Provincial Assembly has 96 members of the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf, 18 members of the Muttahida Majlis e Amal and 12 members of the Awami National Party, five members of Pakistan Muslim League (N), five members of Pakistan Peoples Party, Five of Balochistan Awami Party, Six independent representatives and one member of Pakistan Muslim League (Q).
