Declaration of Zalmay Khalilzad’s visit to Pakistan issued

A declaration of Afghan-American diplomat Zalmay Khalilzad’s visit to Pakistan has been issued.
According to the US Embassy’s declaration, Afghan-American diplomat Zalmay Khalilzad had visited Islamabad on 13th December 2019.
It was mentioned in the declaration that Zalmay Khalilzad had met the minister of foreign affairs Shah Mehmood Quraishi, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and other government officials.
It was also said in the declaration that Zalmay Khalilzad had informed the officials about the progress in talks with the Taliban.
It was also mentioned in the declaration that Zalmay Khalilzad welcomed Pakistan for their support for the ceasefire, Intra-Afghan talks and regional cooperation. Apart from that, he also emphasized economic advantages and security due to the creation of security in the region.
Note that the main purpose of Zalmay’s visit was to inform Pakistan about the US and Afghan Taliban.
Yesterday, Zalmay Khalilzad had a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Quraishi for the implementation of Afghan peace.
