Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the ‘Digital Pakistan’ campaign is a part of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s digitization programme aimed at introducing the latest technologies for public welfare.

According to the details, Prime Minister Imran Khan while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the ‘Digital Pakistan’ campaign said that digitizing Pakistan is crucial for the youth as the country as exciting times are ahead of the country.

The Premier further stated that e-governance is necessary to curb corruption, which is rampant across the country at all levels, and this initiative will ease the lives of the citizens and our government will put all out efforts to promote Digital Pakistan. The future of Pakistan is very exciting.

The Digital Pakistan campaign ceremony was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad.

Under the Digital Pakistan campaign correspondence between government departments, which was previously done on paper, will be made digital.

Ministry of Information Technology will supervise the project and make it functional within three months.

Google’s senior executive Tania Aidrus has resigned from her post to lead the digital vision in Pakistan.

Tania will lead the first Digital Vision of Pakistan. She has arrived from Singapore.

Tania will also brief media about the vision.

Previously on the 21st of December, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui–the federal minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication had said that digitalizing Pakistan in the topmost preference of the government.
